Is my house suitable for an air source heat pump?
It depends on how well the house holds heat and how big the radiators are, not on the age of the property. Well insulated houses with generous radiators do well. Solid wall houses with small radiators and single glazing usually need work first. We do a room by room heat loss calculation and give you a straight answer.
Will a heat pump cost more to run than my gas boiler?
It depends on the efficiency you achieve and on the electricity and gas prices at the time, so anyone giving you a flat yes or no is guessing. What we can do is show you the heat loss figures for your house and the expected performance, and let you do the sum on current prices.
Do you need to replace all my radiators?
Usually not all of them. Commonly some. The survey tells us which rooms are short and by how much, and we price only those.
Can I get a government grant?
Grant schemes have their own certification requirements that sit separately from installation qualifications, and they change. Ring us and we will tell you honestly where we stand on the current scheme rather than putting a number on a web page that might not apply to you.
How long does an installation take?
Typically several days rather than one, because of the radiator and pipework changes as well as the unit itself. The survey gives you a firm number before you commit.
