How much is a boiler service?
£80 including VAT for a combi boiler. A landlord gas safety certificate including the service is £120 including VAT. Both are on our published price list.
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Once a year. It is what the manufacturer requires to keep the warranty in force and it is what the appliance needs. If you are a landlord it is separate from, though usually done alongside, the annual gas safety check.
What is the difference between a service and a gas safety certificate?
A gas safety check confirms the appliance is safe and produces the certificate a landlord is legally required to hold. A service is maintenance: cleaning, measuring and adjusting so the boiler keeps working. They are different jobs and a certificate on its own does not keep your warranty valid. We do both together for £120.
How long does a service take?
Around an hour for a straightforward combi. Longer if there is a cylinder and controls to check as well.
Will you try to sell me a new boiler?
No. If yours has a real problem we will tell you what it is and what it costs to fix. If it is fine we will say it is fine and see you next year.
Do you service boilers you did not install?
Yes, any make.
