Boiler Installation and Plumbing in Chesterfield

Gas Safe registered 946623 · Prices published, not guessed at

Chesterfield sits about half an hour west of our base in Mansfield, and the S40, S41, S43, S44 and S45 postcodes are all inside our normal working area. We are a Mansfield firm working into Derbyshire rather than a Chesterfield firm, and we would rather say that plainly. What it means in practice is that we are well suited to planned work here, boiler installations, servicing, landlord certificates and surveys, all of which are booked in advance, and less suited to a same-morning breakdown call than somebody round the corner.

The town's heating problems will be familiar to anyone who works in this part of the country. Chesterfield grew on coal and iron in the same decades Mansfield did, and it has the same mix: dense Victorian terraces around Brampton, Whittington Moor and Newbold, inter-war and post-war housing at Hasland, Grangewood and Loundsley Green, and newer estates further out towards Walton and Wingerworth. The older housing brings undersized gas runs, part-lead water supplies and back boilers taken out badly years ago. Being on the edge of the Peak, plenty of the outlying properties are also off the mains gas grid entirely, which is exactly where an air source heat pump starts to make real financial sense rather than being a lifestyle choice.

We cover Chesterfield town centre and Brampton, Whittington, Newbold, Hasland, Walton, Wingerworth, Old Whittington and the villages between here and there.

Frequently asked questions

Do you really cover Chesterfield from Mansfield?

Yes, and we would rather be straight about the distance than pretend to be local. It is around half an hour, and the S40 to S45 postcodes are inside our normal working area. That makes us a good fit for planned work booked in advance, boiler installations, servicing, landlord certificates and homebuyer surveys. For a same-morning breakdown you may be better served by somebody closer, and we will tell you so if that is the case.

How much is a new boiler in Chesterfield?

The same published prices as everywhere else we work: around £2,500 for a combi swap, £3,000 for a system swap, and £3,600 for our 30kW premium combi package with a twelve year warranty, power flush, filters and a smart thermostat. All including VAT. We do not price by postcode.

My property is off the mains gas grid. What are my options?

This is common in the villages out towards the Peak. The realistic options are LPG, oil, or an air source heat pump. Liam's Gas Safe registration covers LPG as well as natural gas, and he is BPEC qualified on heat pumps, so we can look at it either way. Off-grid is where a heat pump genuinely stacks up financially, rather than being a lifestyle decision, because you are comparing it against bottled gas or oil rather than against cheap mains gas.

Do you do landlord gas safety certificates in Chesterfield?

Yes, £120 including VAT with a full boiler service, and we do the legionella risk assessment in the same visit. Planned visits like these suit the distance well.

Which parts of Chesterfield do you cover?

The town centre, Brampton, Whittington and Old Whittington, Whittington Moor, Newbold, Hasland, Walton, Wingerworth, Grangewood and Loundsley Green, plus Bolsover and Clay Cross on the way over. Ring 01623 354 884 if your area is not listed.

Can you quote against a Chesterfield firm's price?

Yes. We will not be beaten on a like for like quotation, and like for like means the same boiler, the same warranty, the same filter, the same system flush and the same registered installer. Send us the written quote and we will tell you honestly whether it is comparable.
